Side-trip to Gujo Hachiman (Gifu)

Yesterday was the day I'm leaving Tokyo this trip! My final destination for the day was Osaka, but instead of going straight by train (~3h) I decided to instead make a stop halfway through in Nagoya. From there, I took a highway bus north to the small town of Gujo Hachiman.

The town is at the intersection of two beautiful small rivers, with many shrines, temples, bridges, and waterways.

Overlooking the city is the castle of Gujo Hachiman, accessible through a ~130m climb by foot. Good thing I brought some proper shoes! The view from there was pretty amazing.

The city is also one of the major sources of the plastic "sample food" used by restaurants throughout the country to show what their products look like.

Left in the evening to go back to Nagoya, board the train to Osaka and check-in to my Airbnb. Oh, and of course, get some good local food: Okonomiyaki!
